Community Chest
Grants of up £5000 are now available to community organisations within the Urban II area to develop capacity in urban regeneration. An amount of £100,000 has been made available over 2 years with a maximum grant being £5,000 or a minimum grant of £200 for any one project.
By offering groups the opportunity to access grant support for a fairly small yet very important project a chance is given for those groups to demonstrate their project and financial management skills with lower risk involved and an opportunity to build capacity.
Mount Vernon Strategy Launch May 2005
Examples of the types of projects that might receive funding include: - Research
- Consultations
- Audits
- Newsletters
- Training relating to the capacity of the group
- Networking
- Good Practice findings
- Pilot initiatives with a view to mainstream funding
- Innovative actions
Please note that new applications to Community Chest will not be assessed until December 2005. This is a direct consequence of staff resources being diverted to maximise "N+2".
